Food Bridge


The Food Bridge is one of our church’s most powerful ministries which is housed in the Budington Building of Hope.  Many people know us in this community and we have gained quite a few new church members because of this ministry.


This ministry gives hope  and shares Christ’s Love to people in Northeast Florida.


Our Mission:

To provide essential food support to individuals and families facing food insecurity, bridging the gap over a critical two-week period. Through compassion, partnership, and proactive service, The Food Bridge strives to be a reliable link between hunger and hope, helping our community thrive one meal at a time. By fostering a community of care and collaboration, we ensure access to nutritious meals and resources when they are needed the most, empowering recipients to focus on their well-being and future goals.


Every weekday our refrigerated truck travels into Middleburg and Orange Park to pick up food provided by twelve retail stores through our covenant with Feeding Northeast Florida.  

When the truck returns, many volunteers unload, weigh, sort and store the food items. We have a walk-in freezer and a walk-in refrigerator.


On Thursday mornings, we bag up and carry out food to the vehicles of the clients  (frozen meat, fresh produce, bread, dry goods, and dairy products).


The Food Distribution is from 730am-1030am on Thursdays. This is a Drive-thru only process. Clients are asked to remain in your vehicles. Clients must submit an application online and be approved before receiving food. New applications are no longer being accepted on Thursdays during the Food Distribution. Client ID cards are provided once your application is approved. Clients are responsible for keeping their Client ID and must bring it with them to each Food Distribution.

We are open to volunteers, every weekday from 6:30 AM to 10 AM and Thursdays until noon.

If you love to meet and help new people and share God’s love, consider the following opportunities: drivers, loaders, sorters, “pushers”, “hookers”, “bookies” etc. Answer God’s call and come and get involved in this ministry.

To the Parents that visit the FoodBridge,

If you have children registered in your account you will receive backpacks with School Supplies for each child in your home while supplies last.

Backpacks will be distributed during your regular Food Distribution on either  July 30th or August 6th.

Help Needed at Food Bridge

Our Food Bridge volunteers have been SUPER busy helping the needy in our community.

In order to continue, we are needing more servant volunteers to help us in this much needed mission of our church. 

We need help not only with boxed or canned goods, but with volunteer servants who are willing to come in to the Budington building to help as we receive food daily, store it, and get it ready to hand out to the needy each Thursday morning as they line up in their cars on Main St. 


The following are servant openings:


  • Delivery Truck Driver : need a Valid License, be available Mon, Tue, Fri from 630am - 1030am
  • Truck Assistant, Loader : need Strong Muscles, be available Mon, Tue, Fri from 630am - 1030am
  • Dock Unloader : need Strong Muscles, be available Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri from 730am - 1030am
  • Sorter, Stacker : need Organization skills, be available Mon thru  Fri from 830am - 1030am
  • Bagger :  need Organization skills, be available Thursday from 830am - 1030am
  • Greeter, Record Keeper : need a Sweet Personality, be available Thursday from 730am - 1030am
  • Traffic Control : need Good Communication skills, be available Thursday from 730am - 1030am
