Come on Home to see us at Homecoming
Come home to celebrate the longevity of Black Creek Methodist Church.
Homecoming will be May 3rd at 10am, in the Sanctuary with lots of joyful worship. We will acknowledge our longest-time and eldest members; will have our questionnaire contest about travel distance, etc., with candy bars for winners, and will have a guest speaker, DARRELL WHITE.
Hello, church! My name is Darrell White, and it is a pleasure to be here with my darling wife, Melody, of almost 37 years. Together, we have traveled the world and had some unique experiences but have held strong to our Christian world view and faith.
Over the years, we have been blessed to serve in many different churches and in different roles. We started serving in the church where we were married, Calvary United Methodist Church (1989), and then others including Pacific Independent Bible Church (Guam), First Church of Chula Vista (San Diego, CA), St. Nicholas Chapel (NAS Patuxent River, MD), and now at Orange Park Methodist Church.
While I primarily serve in roles of leadership, administration, or teaching, Melody uses her God-given voice to make a joyful noise wherever we are; currently she sings in the Chancel Choir, praise band, the Inspirations ensemble, and with the music ministry of the Walk to Emmaus weekend retreats. In my educational pursuits at Liberty University and Liberty Theological Seminary, I completed a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies in 2012 and am currently pursuing ordination in the Global Methodist Church under the supervision of Dr. Charles Lever, Senior Pastor of our church.
We enjoy life with our three children, Darrell Jr, Aimee, and Rachel and our four grandchildren Zac, Addi, and twins Jayse and Ayva.
We are a welcoming and inviting church and I imagine most of us would say that we Love our church. We are not on the main road, rather we are off the beaten
path. So, as we approach our annual Homecoming Celebration May 3, why not reach out to others: friends and neighbors who might not have a church family and invite them to come see what Black Creek Methodist Church is all about. Let them know we share the Love of Jesus and that we preach the Bible.
If you have missed seeing someone who has been attending, reach out to them and let them know they have been missed and find out if they are ok or if they
need something that the church could help with. Let's make sure others know about our friendly, loving church.
Another good part: We’re going to have a dinner!
We are having our traditional pot luck dinner following the worship service in the FLC. Please bring one or two of your favorite dishes to share with the church family and our guests.
Pie Contest
You will have to cook for that. There are judges who are looking forward to tasting what pie specialties you bring! Please don’t bribe them in advance.
Pies must be delivered to the FLC by 8:50 AM
Winner's Pies will be auctioned off after the dinner.
The nursery will be available for the younger children. Children older than 3 will remain with family in the service to experience this special day. We’ll have small bags of activities for the younger ones.
It’s going to be great
Bring someone with you!
And Be sure to enter your special pie in the Pie Contest!
